Benalmádena Pueblo is a village with the typical old Andalusian character, it has small narrow streets, where there are no touristy new buildings. It does have many restaurants and small shops. It is located about 2 kilometres higher inland. The old castle Castillo de Colomares is unique with a mix of architectural styles. It is not large, but well worth the effort; the castle stands quite high, offering beautiful views.

Definitely also worth mentioning is the Stupa, a snow-white Buddhist temple with a beautiful golden tower on the roof. The Stupa can be easily seen from the coastal road. It is one of the largest Stupas in Europe and, due to its high location, also gives the opportunity for beautiful views. If you drive from Málaga on the motorway towards Marbella, you pass the famous Teleférico cable car at Benalmádena, an attraction to see the nearly 800-metre-high Mount Calamorro with sweeping views of the Mediterranean, the Sierra Nevada and the Moroccan coast. The lovely towns of Arroyo de la Miel with its pleasant village street and the villa district of Torremuelle also belong to the municipality of Benalmádena.
