Marc Beuk has been familiar with the area of Benalmádena in sunny Andalusia since the late 1990s. The purchase of a fine family flat on the famous Torrequebrada golf course literally laid the ‘foundation stone’ for a wonderful base for holidays. From the beginning of 2000, Marevista Real Estate B.V., founded by Marc, has been active for many years as a real estate agency for the Dutch, Scandinavian and English markets. The offer of holiday homes in southern Spain was then soon expanded to include recreational real estate in the well-known Turkish seaside resorts of Alanya, Bodrum and Fethiye. In addition to his work in foreign real estate, Marc was also closely involved in the wonderful family business ‘Royal Beech' in Noordwijk, the Netherlands. As Marc has lived and worked in several Spanish-speaking countries, his knowledge of the Spanish language is an important added value.
Patricia Beuk-Volkers worked for many years in the Netherlands as a salesperson in financial services and insurance. For the past 10 years, she has been office manager and co-responsible for financial administration, customer management and human resources within a company in the manufacturing industry. Both Patricia and Marc have always loved beautiful Spain. Eventually, however, blood was everywhere and the desire to return to the Costa del Sol became stronger and stronger. With Marevista Estates, Marc and Patricia are now active again as buyers and sellers from Benalmádena, which is so familiar to them. Together with a team of external experts in legal, fiscal and mortgage matters, they guide their customers through the entire buying and selling process.
Marc: “Advising and guiding our clients in the search and purchase of that one specific ‘dream home’ is a challenging but also rewarding service, out of which fun and special friendships are also often formed.
It is always the art of fine-tuning people's specific needs as accurately as possible, before working with them to view an appropriate selection of properties. After all, a practical flat in the city is different from a family home by the golf course. Similarly, living at the beach is quite a different experience from living in a rustic finca inland. After all, no two people are the same and this also applies to the wishes regarding a (holiday) home abroad.
We therefore consider the personal acquaintance with our clients an important aspect with a mutual interest. After all, this is a kind of collaboration, in which trust, positive gut feeling and the favour factor are at least as important as our range of homes. Striving to always do just that little bit more than people expect from us certainly contributes to this.’
Patricia: “As an organisational and administrative jack-of-all-trades with a down-to-earth and cheerful character, I can cope very well with the Spanish way of working, which is often different from what we are used to. We don't just say what we do, we do what we say; after all, a deal is a deal and mañana really is mañana!
Besides working in real estate, I also enjoy the pleasant climate, Spanish cuisine, hospitality and, of course, the beautiful nature Andalusia has to offer. When time allows, I like to join organised walking tours through the rugged but stunning interior, with beautiful views and culinary surprises in authentic local restaurants.
From the working atmosphere with our clients, a personal connection often develops as well, so I regularly invite them to join me for a walk, nice and relaxed and always fun! Social life here mainly takes place outdoors and the locals like to make time to meet up with family and friends, often over a glass of wine and a home-made tapa. In that respect, we are already pretty well established here. All in all, for us these are the right ingredients to create the ‘home away from home’ feeling."
